Parkland REDI's goal is to attract new industries to the area, while also continuing to foster the strong relationship with existing local businesses.

New suppliers in the area find a hardworking, well educated workforce as well as strong capabilities for further training and education. Additionally, the region has lower wages than the state and metro averages. The region also offers abundant choices in open land and industrial sites, some of which are certified shovel-ready.

In addition, the close proximity to the St. Louis metro area could provide suppliers easy access to many top global manufacturers. For example, by car, Farmington is only 1.5 hours from Lambert International Airport and the Boeing plant, 1.25 hours from the Monsanto plant, 1 hour from Anheuser-Busch facility and 1.75 hours from the General Motors plant. These 4 companies represent the top 4 manufacturers (based on employment) in the greater St. Louis metro area.

For existing businesses, Parkland REDI hopes to explore Business Retention and Expansion (BRE) programs. BRE programs focus on and reward existing local businesses, strengthening the relationship between the local business community and community leaders. The focus on smaller entities ultimately improves quality of life for residents and helps ensure workforce needs are being met for area businesses.
